All three of Diana's siblings were present, with her sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, giving a powerful reading at the very beginning of the ceremony.
Otherwise, there were white roses included in the floral arrangements and Meghan's own bouquet was constructed from forget-me-nots - Diana's favourite flower.
Similarly, at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in Westminster Abbey seven years ago, a symbolic chair was also left empty in the front row. And, of course, Kate wears Diana's engagement ring.Explore more on these topics:
