Parents around the world were today invited to support Pampers and UNICEF Ireland’s ‘Every Parent’s Dream’ campaign. 

Now in its eight year, they’re looking for your support to help in the fight against Maternal and Newborn Tetanus (MNT).

To date, Irish mums and dads have donated a whopping 17 million vaccines to the life-saving campaign.

So what can you do?

Simply buy a specially marked pack of Pampers or watch one of the campaign videos and for every view, or special pack of Pampers bought, the company will donate the cost of an additional vaccine to UNICEF.

MNT occurs when newborns or mothers are infected at birth, which is often as a result of unhygienic birthing practices. However, MNT is preventable through injections that can be administered to pregnant women and girls of child bearing age. 

Every parent’s dream, wherever they are in the world, is for a healthy start in life for their baby.

Pampers and UNICEF have already helped to eliminate MNT in ten of the world’s poorest countries including Cameroon, Ghan and Tanzania but there’s still much more work to be done.

“As a mum myself, my only dream for my babies was that they would be born healthy and happy” said Anna Daly, spokesperson for the campaign.

“ It’s great to see how the efforts of parents everywhere have helped make that dream a reality for parents in some of the world’s poorest countries. There is still much more to be done though with 100 million women and their newborns still at risk.”
