It's the children's classic that terrified us all senseless as kids and now the remake of The Witches is the latest blockbuster film to skip cinema release altogether and head straight to streaming services.
Anne Hathaway takes on the role of the Grand High Witch in the second film adaptation of the famed 1983 Roald Dahl novel and with Forrest Gump Director Robert Zemeckis at the helm, fans are certainly in for a treat. The film will be released on Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) on October 26th in the UK and will be available to watch for 48 hours for participating digital partners.
If you haven't read the book or seen the original 1990 flick (which was released the year Roald Dahl died) the story follows a young boy, his grandmother and the fact that child-hating witch societies secretly exist in countries all over the world... standard.
It's a tough time for movies in general and just last week Cineworld announced it would be temporarily closing all of its UK sites till further notice. Taking a positive slant this new adaptation, if possible, looks even more terrifying than the original, it has a stellar cast which also includes Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth and Chris Rock AND you can watch it in your PJs.
It's the little things.
