Aoibhinn McGinnity and Tom Vaughan Lawlor are soon to appear back on our TV screens, in a new drama series set in 1916.
According to
The Irish Mirror, they're working together on a TV3 drama entitled
Trial of the Century.
The upcoming programme will focus on an alternative outcome to the 1916 Rising and what could have happened if the leaders were brought before the courts instead of facing execution.
Tom is reportedly set to play the part of Padraig Pearse while Aoibhinn will play the role of Catherine Foster, a mother whose child was killed during the Rising.
The Mirror reports that Trial of the Century will start filming this week with plans to air it in some time in April/May.
Another familiar face appearing in the courtroom drama is
Red Rock actor Anthony Brophy. He will take on the role of Eoin MacNeill, leader of the Irish Volunteers who tried to call off the Rising.
