And then, upon witnessing this shocking footage, Annie, Maddie and Helen glared at each other before sharing these tantalising words: "She's back..."
Now, let us be clear, Netflix has not (yet) ordered a season three of the show, but – as we know there actually 11 books in the Sweet Magnolias series (yes, the show is based loosely on Sherryl Woods' Sweet Magnolias books series), we can assume the writers of the show also have more in store for us.
Yep, things are going to get real interesting in season three as we will no doubt find out what happens next for our Sweet Magnolias Maddie, Dana-Sue and Helen.
And what about that villain whose arrival back in Serenity is alluded to in the last episode?
"I will just say she has a past in common with our ladies and some other folks in town," showrunner Sheryl J Anderson told TVLine of the mysterious figure.
"She's been away for a while, but she has come back with an agenda. She has come home to settle some scores."
Speaking about a possible season three, Anderson also revealed that she is keen to explore Noreen's story now that she and Bill's baby has been born. She also said that season three could end up delving into the aftermath of Cal no longer being coach – you know, following his shocking arrest in the season two finale. As for cast, Anderson has pretty much confirmed that our main ladies, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley and Brooke Elliot, will undoubtedly return for a third season – and that we can also expect to see Chris Medlan return as Isaac, Jamie Lynn Spears as Noreen, Dion Johnstone as Erik and Michael Shenefelt as Ryan. Oh – this will be good – bring on the margaritas!Explore more on these topics:
