Sweet Home Alabama received mixed reviews following its release, but that doesn't really matter all that much considering its well deserved status as a piece of art.
Vogue called it "a classic tale of deception and the American Dream, this movie has everything," while Common Sense Media said that "Witherspoon's charm keeps this movie afloat."
Village Voice was less forgiven, saying that "Despite her relentless vim and winsome facial symmetry, Witherspoon is just too dialed-up to be America's Sweetheart."
The Washington Post said: "If you're a fan of Witherspoon, this movie was produced, shot, edited and distributed entirely for you."
