The comedian took his own life in 2014.

A new Robin Williams documentary is being released today, focusing on the comedian's health battles including his struggle with Parkinson's Disease and depression. Robin Williams: When The Laughter Stops details the actor's final months before he died by suicide, as told by those who were closest to him. "While he was happy to talk publicly about his addictions to both booze and drugs, he kept his longer and more personally painful battle with Parkinson's disease all to himself," said Dylan Howard, AMI vice president. "Comedians, they experience highs and lows," added friend and follow comedian, Jeffrey Gurian. "They're usually very sensitive, very creative, very smart." Williams took his own life in August 2014 in his California home. He had been suffering from depression and anxiety, with his autopsy report showing that he had also developed Parkinson's Disease. Following his death, countless fans, friends, and family members paid tribute to the comedian, with his wife Susan Schneider saying:  "I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken." Barack Obama released a statement thanking Williams for his "immeasurable talent," while Billy Crystal called him "the brightest star in our comedy galaxy." The new documentary by REALZ, focuses on "this brutal and tragic dichotomy, casting its incisive eye on the comedians’ personal lives, while separating fact from fiction, creative work from the human being behind it, to probe not just from where their genius sprung — but how that same wellspring often lead to their demise." Last year, HBO released another documentary on Williams' life called Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.  The REALZ documentary, Robin Williams: When The Laughter Stops, is airing in the States tonight.
