You star Penn Badgley hopes the hit series will end after season 5. The Gossip Girl alum plays murderer Joe Goldberg on the hit Netflix series, which has become one of Netflix's biggest shows. I don’t know where it’s going," he said. The actor said he would love the show to end on a high rather than to drag it out. "But to me, with this concept and with this character, we always wanted to be responsible and it’s not just the kind of thing we can let keep going because it’s doing well." He also said, "I know the creators of the show always had this next season in mind as its last." However, Netflix has not yet confirmed if the show will return for a fifth season, but the chances are pretty high after season 4's success.

"We definitely could follow Joe for several more seasons"

The show's co-creator Sera Gamble previously told The Hollywood Reporter that You could go on for years.
