"Rue is our guide through the social-media-obsessed world she and her classmates occupy where everyone’s trauma is in full view. "Fresh out of rehab and struggling to picture a clean future for herself, her life takes a drastic turn when she meets newcomer Jules Vaughn, a trans girl who feels just as lost as Rue."
Zendaya leads the cast for the series as 17-year-old Rue Bennett.
Hunter Schafer stars as Jules Vaughn; Maude Apatow stars as Lexi Howard; Jacob Elordi stars as Nate Jacobs and Barbie Ferreria stars as Kat Hernandez.
It comes as the coming-of-age drama was recently rewind for a second season - and HBO president Casey Bloys said there was a "time limit" on the series.
“Well, [the characters] are in high school, so there are only so many seasons it can go," he told TV Line, before revealing that the end hasn't been set in stone.
Bloys added:
“We’ll follow [series' creator Sam Levinson’s] lead on that. There is no set plan. But I don’t think you want 30-year-olds playing [high school students].”
