Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy has said that the upcoming series of the crime show will be dedicated to Helen McCrory. McCrory, who played Poly in the award-winning series, passed away earlier this year. She had been sick with cancer. Her husband, Damian Lewis, announced her death in a statement on social media. He wrote: "The beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully as home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family. "She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you." Since her passing, the cast of Peaky Blinders have shared a number of touching tributes to Helen. "I'm deeply saddened and still trying to get over it. It's hard to think of the series without her. She was so much a part of that." He added that the Poly/Tommy storylines were always his favourite. The actor also told the Guardian that Helen was his "closest colleauge" on set. He added that he was "in awe of how she lived her life." Filming of the final season of Peaky Blinders wrapped earlier this week. Earlier this year, the show's creator Steven Knight hinted that the story may continue in the form of a film. In an interview with Variety, Knight said: "We are in development. It's a fully formed idea and it has a beginning, middle and end." He added that it would be a "fitting conclusion to the story so far."
