It was a delicious moment for all involved as the paedophile teacher got what was coming to her in the form of a jail sentence and the audience got what was coming to them in the form of this plot finally being done with.
However, despite Maya's heinous crimes, she did only receive a mere one year prison sentence - time that fans of the show are convinced is going to be cut short.
They're also convinced that once she returns to the Dale, she's going to be pregnant - and not be sure whether the baby is David's or Jacob's.

The Maya Is Pregnant In Prison theory has been doing the rounds on social media since the teacher discovered that she was going to serve time for grooming her boyfriend's son.
Jacob had been being abused by Maya for the better part of six months while dad David was none the wiser.
The pair were eventually caught out during the soap's Big Night Out episode when they were seen kissing by a load of the gals outside a club.
And so began the long and painful chain of events leading up to Maya's arrest and subsequent jailing.
