When Emily in Paris arrived on Netflix last year, it was nothing short of a gift. With its iconic outfits and bizarre story-lines, this binge-worthy show provided some much-needed light relief during Lockdown 2.0. While Emily in Paris divided armchair critics, the show attracted a huge following. Just this weekend, Netflix revealed that 58 million people tuned it to follow Emily and her adventures in the French capital. Avid fans of the show can now sleep safe in the knowledge that filming for season two has officially started. The show's creator, Darren Star, said yesterday that the cast and crew are back in Paris and filming for season two has gotten underway. Star said: "I am thrilled to be returning to Paris for a second season to continue Emily's adventures in the magical 'City of Light.'" The show's star Lily Collins also announced that she was pleased to be back on set. The actress said: "As an actor, an artist, and a creative, the most meaningful gift is to connect with people through your art in some way. When we last saw Emily (Collins), she successfully launched an ambitious project with Pierre Cadault (Jean-Christophe Bouvet). Her love-life, however, was far from smooth-sailing. Last season, she was caught up in a love triangle between Camille (Camille Razat) and her neighbour Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). So many questions remain. How will Mindy (Ashley Park) get on with her new gig as a cabaret singer? Can Emily ever gain the respect of her stern boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)? And, crucially, will Emily's sub-par social media presence see her follower count grow exponentially? We can only hope.
