Alfie Moon, played by Shane Ritchie, is one of EastEnders' most popular characters but it looks like his days on the soap might be numbered.
Shane attended the Downton Abbey Centre Point ball recently and when asked about his future on Albert Square, he said: "I'm out of it (EastEnders) now, you'll see".
Although numerous reports had taken this to mean he was leaving the soap, Shane has denied the rumours with the below tweet.

The 51-year-old has a number of projects in the pipeline and is soon set to star in a new BBC drama opposite Julie Hesmondhalgh.
Julie, known for her role as Hayley Cropper in
Coronation Street, will play Shane's love interest and both soap stalwarts are looking forward to the new challenge.
Speaking about the new role, Shane said: ""It's really nice because Alfie is not in it."
He went on to say: "Julie and I were talking about the differences (between
Eastenders and
Corrie) and there isn't any. We all have the same angst, the same commitment, the same passion for our shows."
