The show won't be the same without Leonie Elliott.

Call the Midwife actress Leonie Elliott has reportedly quit the show after six years. The beloved actress played Nurse Lucille Robinson on the popular BBC drama. According to The Mirror, the actress won't be returning for series 13. Lucille has not been seen on the show since episode two of series 12. The nurse was suffering from severe depression during the latest series and decided to leave Poplar for a break. Lucille decided to head home to Jamaica after struggling with her mental health for months. Her on-screen husband Cyril visited his wife later in the series. After returning to Poplar, Cyril revealed that Lucille had found a job as a nurse in Jamaica. Fans were delighted to hear she was doing better, but many feared Lucille would never return to Poplar at all. And it looks like that may be true. Following Lucille's harrowing storyline, actress Leonie Elliott tweeted; "This season was incredibly difficult to film. Thank you for all your kind words... Look after yourselves and each other." The show won't be the same without Nurse Lucille, but multiple fan favourite will return next series. Viewers of the drama series were worried Sister Monica Joan would leave the show after she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. However, actress Judy Parfitt is not leaving the show, much to fans' delight. Also returning are actress Helen George (Trixie) and her on-screen partner Olly Rix (Matthew).
