Dare-devil Bear Grylls has shared his pride at encouraging Prince George to eat his "first ant". Appearing on Good Morning Britain to promote his new book, Never Give Up, Grylls was asked about his meeting with the young prince. The two met at the King's Cup Regatta, a sailing event off the coast of the Isle of Wight, which Bear won. On the show, which aired earlier this week, host Susanna Reid asked: "You encouraged our future king to eat some ants, didn’t you?" Bear went on to explain that George's grandmother, Carole Middleton, arranged for the two to speak because George was a big fan of his shows. And his eyes lit up as they do with anyone when they’re out in the wild and they face a few fears and they overcome them, so good for him. What a little hero." When asked by Susanna what ants taste like, Bear informed her that they are "a little zingy", but that it's all good as they're a source of vitamin C. Prince George is far from the only high-level figure Bear has met. During his appearance on the breakfast show, he also spoke about how, much to the discontent of the Secret Service, he encouraged President Barack Obama to share a half-eaten salmon carcass with him.
