Ed Sheeran was the name on all Irish people’s lips last week as he performed two sold-out gigs at the 3 Arena, recorded the music video for his single, ‘Galway Girl’ in Galway and appeared on various Irish radio stations in what was a pretty busy few days for one of the most popular acts in the world right now. The people of Ireland have always had a particular affinity with Ed – whose grandparents hail from Gorey in Wexford – and one of the countless instances of him being a good bloke was relayed on the The Ray D’Arcy Show on Saturday night.
