A reboot of the The Flinstones is reportedly in the works.

Variety report that Warner Bros. Animation and Elizabeth Banks' Brownstone Productions are working together on the new series. And while the project is still said to be in early development, there are a few details available as to what it would look like. The series is described as a primetime animated 'adult' comedy, centred on an original idea - and featuring characters from The Flinstones.  No network is currently attached to the project. The original The Flinstones ran between 1960 and 1966, spanning six seasons and more than 150 episodes. It followed two Stone Age families - the Flinstones (Fred, Wilma, Pebbles and their pet, Dino) and the Rubbles (Fred's best friend Barney, Wilma's best friend Betty, and their son, Bamm-Bamm).   Following the show's cancellation in 1966, there have been a number of spin-off TV series' and TV specials - including The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, The New Fred and Barney Show, A Flinstone Family Christmas and The Flinstones Kids.  There were also two live-action films, The Flinstones and The Flinstones in Viva Rock Vegas.  It's not the first time that there's been an attempt to reboot the series over the last few years. In 2011, it was announced that Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane was going to revive The Flinstones on Fox. The first episode was expected to air in 2013. However, after the Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly read the pilot script and "liked it but didn't love it," the project was said to be on "life support" [via The Hollywood Reporter].
