With Sam Smith, Florence and The Machine and Blur taking to the main stage this year, there’s no doubt that everyone is a buzz for the musical adventure of Electric Picnic. While we’re already picturing ourselves awing at the light shows, we’ve just seen the speaker line up and been consumed by a whole new wave of excitement. EP is killing it this year with its alternative attractions and here are our personal favourites.   Soundings: Holy Trinity live at Leviathan Hosted by Dylan Haskins and Lisa Hannigan this is an hour and a half of story telling and song to inspire. After a string of sell out sessions across Ireland and the UK, the duo are live with appearances from Comedian Eleanor Tiernan and top acts from across the festival. If you’re not familiar check out the soundings podcast HERE.   Terry Alderton at The Comedy Tent Probably more familiar to Irish audiences as Bianaca Butchers former love interest, Terry Alderton is fast becoming one of our favourite comedians. His sharp one-liners and dazzling wit is sure to have the crowds in stitches.   Trailer Park Conceived three years ago, Trailer Park plays homage to the humble history of the camper van. This year over 100 mad souls entered some pretty eccentric designs. Toddle along to see the top 15 which we hear includes a Trailer Tower.   Pottery Workshop at Greencrafts Channel your inner transition year student and join the pottery workshop at Greencrafts. There’s a bunch of fantastic classes going on here all weekend from woodworking to metal smithing. Pottery is a must though, who doesn’t want an Electric Picnic handcrafted mug to take away.   Hangover Food Cooking Demo with Aine Maguire at Theatre of Food This years Theatre of Food line up will make any budding foodie squeal with excitement. From healthy food hacks with The Happy Pear to Food Truck Demos from Diana Dodog, you’ll need to pry us away from this space with significant force. Hangover Food with Aine Maguire is absolutely not to be missed as we expect it to be educational and completely necessary in equal measures.   How The YES Was Won at Body and Soul We’re absolutely delighted to be behind this colourful panel discussion featuring the heavy weights of the Marriage Equality Campaign. With talks from Rory O’Neill, Una Mullally, Patrick Sweeny and exclusive interview footage with Senator Zappone and Anne Louise Gilligan, this event is going to be an epic celebration of Ireland’s LGBT movement.   Magic Mushroom Brand spanking new to Electric Picnic, Magic Mushroom is the zany brainchild of magician Shane Gillen. Visitors can expect to get up close and personal with the performer who is offerent “Fool The Magician” shows. Some lucky few will have the opportunity to control magician Brian Daly through a live feed as he wanders through the arena. Let the hilarity ensue.
