RTÉ One presenter Maura Derrane has revealed that she and her husband, Fine Gael TD John Deasy, are getting ready for the pitter patter of tiny feet.
The Today host (pictured above with her co-star Dáithí Ó Sé) told the Irish Independent that she is delighted with the news which couldn’t come at a better time.
“John and I are thrilled that we are expecting a baby at the end of June,” she said. “I will be off the air as the Today show finishes in March, which is perfect timing.”
Maura (43) also explained that she is planning to be at Holles Street Hospital, in Dublin, for the birth of her first child.
She and John have been married for almost nine years. They tied the knot in Rome back in May 2005, three years after they first met.
Meanwhile, Dáithí Ó Sé and his wife Rita Talty are getting ready to welcome their first child in March.
