Golfer Rory McIlroy and tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki are said to have called time on their two-year relationship.
The sports stars have never been shy about showing their feelings for one another but it seems there will be no more Twitter snaps or declarations of affection between the two.
Rory hasn't been at his best on the golf course (image via @McIlroyRory).
An insider told The Mirror that they “are over” before adding: “It’s a difficult time for them both but it is for the best in the long run. There were a lot of tears.”
They added: “Rory has a lot of respect for Caroline and their time together was good, but he feels it’s time to move on now – and he wishes her nothing but the best.”

Caroline has been vocal about rumours before (image via @CaroWozniacki).
Neither Rory nor Caroline has addressed the reports on Twitter with the latter still using a photograph of the two as her profile picture.
Earlier this summer the loved-up pair had to deny that they had split after both changed their profile pictures to single ones. (We're sort of hoping the same will happen again this time!)
