You might not recognise his face but you would certainly know his name from his role in creating one of television’s most famous families.
Sam Simon played a key role, along with Matt Groening and James L. Brooks, in creating The Simpsons even from its early days on The Tracey Ullman Show.
He went from being an executive producer to creative supervisor and even ended up co-writing eight episodes before branching out and working on other projects including Friends.
But that’s enough about his impressive career. The 58-year-old has also given lots of money to charity including the Sam Simon Foundation, which rescues dogs, and set up a vegan foodbank for those less fortunate than him.
Sadly Sam was diagnosed with colon cancer in February and only has months to live. And one of his last gestures is going to be to leave the bulk of his wealth to his various charities.
He told the Hollywood Reporter: “The truth is I have more money than I’m interested in spending. Everyone in my family is taken care of. And I enjoy this.”
What a guy...

Sam Simon is best known for his work on The Simpsons.
