According to reports the
Sex and the City star has given away tens of thousands worth of her belongings to the fundraiser, organised by the family of Kalie Gill, due to take place this weekend.
Fifteen-year-old Kalie was killed and her younger sister Lindsey was left in a critical condition when school teacher Roseanne Piccirilli lost control of her car and hit the girls. Lindsey has recovered somewhat but is still struggling with her injuries.
Speaking afterwards about what happened, the girls’ mum Karen said they would not be holding a grudge: “She’s a good woman, a good person and she didn’t mean to do this. I believe it was a freak accident. I just wish her well.”
The family, who recently moved to New York from Leitrim, were at a charity carnival in Yonkers on the night the accident happened.
SJP, who owns a house in County Donegal with her husband Matthew Broderick, heard about their story on the radio after which she decided to give the Gills a helping hand in reaching their $10,000 goal.
