The 2022 Met Gala served us a lot of looks from a lot of designers, with a wide range coming of different brands and nationalities. When it comes to fashion designers, we usually think of big French names like Chanel and Yves Saint Lauren, or Italian fashion houses like Prada and Versace. And when it comes to styling for the Met Gala, we only expect the biggest names to be behind the iconic looks. With Irish stars like Nicola Coughlan and Paul Mescal taking to the red carpet, they weren't the only ones bringing a piece of the Emerald Isle to New York City, but Sarah Jessica Parker was also flying our flag. The Sex and the City actress stepped out in a beautiful checkered gown by American designer Christopher John Rogers and a headpiece from Irish haute couture milliner Philip Treacy. The Galway designer began studying design at NCAD in the 80s before heading to London to get his master's in fashion design. Since then, he has only gotten bigger and better, with collaborations with designers including Valentino and Versace. Treacy's designs have been worn on countless red carpets over the years, with Sarah Jessica Parker only being the latest to year his accessories. From Lady Gaga to the royal family, his designs made it to the Met Gala this year thanks to the actress and were inspired by an 1860s ensemble by Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley. The gown was made of a patch-worked bodice and pleated ball skirt, with variations of black, white and grey silk faille and silk moiré with Swarovski crystal buttons. The headpiece brought a touch of colour to the outfit with pink petals alongside the black and white to match her gown.
