Rebekah Vardy is back in court today, this time as the plaintiff against Coleen Rooney
The 42-year-old claims that Rooney inflated her legal bill - which is being footed by Vardy after losing the 2022 defamation lawsuit.
The wife of Leicester Striker, Jamie Vardy, is planning on contesting the €2.1 million bill claiming that it is unjust.
Reports claim the bill includes includes a €2,386 charge for her solicitor's stay at London's five-star Nobu Hotel, as well as a €268 food and mini-bar tab.
"As far as Becky is concerned, they have been trying to pick her pockets because they think they can get away with it,” an insider told The Sun.
"They underestimated their costs and are over-billing her. From the costs of experts to legal fees, the figures are ludicrous.
"They’ve taken a kitchen sink approach and are trying to get as much out of her as they can."
"Why on earth would her lawyer need to have dinner at somewhere so exuberant that cod costs £52 - and expect Becky to foot the bill?
"Becky won’t stand for it. She will keep fighting in court until she feels there is a fair outcome," they added.
It’s understood that the final legal bill exceeding €2 million is more than triple the €625,000 expected by Vardy’s team following the defamation case.
Her legal team now claims that Rooney’s bill contains errors and some extraordinary costs with around €143,000 falling outside of the timeline she would have been liable for.
The allegations include potentially exaggerated hourly rates from London-based law firm, Stewarts and Liverpool's Brabner's.
Proceedings will continue today in the UK.
