Protests have been ongoing in the US since the news broke.

Singer Phoebe Bridgers is being praised after she revealed that she had an abortion last year. Sharing her story candidly on Instagram with fans amidst the reports that the US Supreme Court might be overturning abortion laws, she revealed her personal experience terminating a pregnancy. Phoebe took to her Instagram story yesterday to tell her own story, saying: "I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour.

"I went to planned parenthood where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access."

Asking fans to donate to abortion funds, they thanked her for speaking out about the issue and praised her for being so open with her own experience. One person wrote: "I love Phoebe Bridgers so much. Women speaking about their experiences with abortion so candidly does so much to destigmatise the whole issue. "We won’t get anywhere until we start speaking about abortion as a standard medical procedure rather than some secret taboo offense." Phoebe isn't the only person in the public eye to speak out against the reports that abortion could be overturned, with Hilary Clinton saying "women will be killed and subjugated" after the draft legal document was leaked. Leaked documents have shown that a majority of US Supreme Court justices plan to support overturning the historic Roe v Wade case that legalised abortion. Politico has published a draft which it says is a "full-throated and unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision". It is unclear if the draft represents the Supreme Court's final decisions on the matter as it has yet to issue an official ruling. The ruling is set to be made in late June or early July. However, if the US court strikes down the ruling, it could instantly make abortion illegal in more than 20 US states. The news has been met with intense backlash. Within hours, protestors took to the streets of Washington DC.
