She went on to talk more about everything she lost in the fires, and the trauma that came with it.
"I was actually in South Africa, so I couldn’t come home, and like, my animals were tied to a post at the beach," she said. "I lost everything. I had polaroids of Elvis, like front row, passed on from—I got a couple grandmas to give me their Elvis polaroids."
Miley explained the relationship was all she had left of the house. "Me being an intense person and not wanting to sit with it and not wanting to go, you know, ‘What could be purposeful about this?’ I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him.”
The Disney star spoke highly about ex husband Liam telling Stern: “I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will."
Miley put the end of their on-and-off ten year relationship down to “too much conflict.” She explained: “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”
Cyrus, who released her new album last month, also told the radio show host why she stopped drinking last year, and how she felt about breaking her sobriety during the pandemic.
“The hardest times have been in this pandemic," she said. "I am always truthful. And a lot of people, their sobriety broke during this time. I was one of them. Luckily, I haven’t gone back to using any drugs, but I was drinking during the pandemic.”
Cyrus said alcohol was not her "demon" but “if anything, it just makes me not reach my full potential, which is unacceptable to me. Like, I will not accept anyone or anything that causes me to not reach my fullest potential.”Explore more on these topics:
