Calling out the publication, Laura wrote: "I'm so sick of the media constantly trying to run this narrative with women. Imagine the audacity of also talking to other people at our table.
"Stop trying to put women against each other and start celebrating women supporting women!"
She then tagged Maya and wrote that they "had a great night".
This sentiment was shared by the current host of the show, Maya Jama, who reposted Laura's story on Instagram.
She added: "Silly, silly, silly. I think very highly of @thewhitmore & think she's an angel. Maybe quote that instead."
Maya Jama was announced as Laura Whitmore's successor after the latter announced her departure from Love Island last year.
Since taking over the gig on this year's winter edition of Love Island, Maya has said that she is "overwhelmed" by the positive feedback.
After the first episode, she took to Instagram to thank fans for all their support.
She wrote: "Overwhelmed from last night, thankyou so much for your kind words."
