Martin King has opened up about his wife Jenny McCarthy's recovery from brain surgery. The Virgin Media TV presenter returned to work this week, after taking some time off to care for her. Jenny had a procedure to remove a brain tumour earlier this month, after having a similar operation back 2011. Addressing the topic on The Six O' Clock Show, Martin said the support from the public for himself and his wife had "increased his faith in human kindness". "My wife had brain surgery after her tumour came back.," he said. Jenny has been back in hospital a couple of times because there was a worry about an infection and a bleed. "Thankfully, everything is good and she is at home now." Martin said he remembered how just weeks after the 2011 surgery, the pair were "enjoying morning coffees and short walks" but this time has been slightly different as Jenny is suffering with "severe debilitating headaches". On Sunday, Jenny shared an image of herself ready for an evening out with her husband, telling her followers she was feeling a little better. "We managed to go out on a bit of a date, which was lovely," Martin said. "We went out for dinner, just the two of us. "I remember her surgeon telling her last time and reminding her again that she will look great but she won't feel great. "Anybody who has had brain surgery like that, it does hit you. It takes a while to get through things and her recovery is going to take a bit longer. "We are in a good place and it will be a slow walk and not a sprint." Martin went on to thank Virgin Media and everyone at home for their well-wishes. "The amount of cards and messages that were sent to her through me... It has increased my faith in human kindness. People have been absolutely lovely."
