Louise Thompson said skin cancer runs in her family
Former Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson has revealed she is undergoing checks for skin cancer in a new health update.
The mum has often been praised for being so public about her various health conditions, and this is no different.
In an incredibly honest post on her Instagram, Louise explained that she's undergoing skin cancer checks for multiple reasons.
The mum said she wants to learn more about her skin health.
"I went to a clinic called the Adere clinic on Park Walk in Chelsea, the other day, to have a skin consultation with a lovely lady called Dr Cristina.
"I learnt so much about skin health and skin cancer during the appointment," she shared.
The influencer said she will always try to avoid the sun and wear SPF 50 due to having multiple risk factors.
Louise said she is doing this because she wants "ageless and safe skin."
"I want to avoid further damage as much as possible, so I will always lather my face, neck, and hands/forearms."
Louise explained that skin cancer sadly does run in her family, and she is also covered in moles and freckles.
"Better to be safe than sorry"
She got sunburnt as a child and is on a variety of immunosuppressant medications that can increase her risk of skin cancer.
"I had 3 slightly suspect-looking moles cut out and sent off for biopsy, so fingers crossed that they come back ok," she revealed.
Louise explained that she is undergoing these skin cancer checks because it is always better to be safe than sorry.
"Better to be safe than sorry. I will be going back for yearly checks under the microscope. Would highly recommend. It’s no more expensive than an expensive head of hair dye/highlights."
Louise has suffered from a string of health issues following the birth of her son Leo in 2021.
The mum has PTSD after a near-death childbirth experience. Louise has also been diagnosed with Lupus, suffered from severe ulcerative colitis, and now has a stoma bag.
Louise was also hospitalised with sepsis in 2024.
