Kesha has made a bold statement following the launch of her own record label.
The star said that the music industry should be "terrified" of her as she plans to shake up the business.
Kesha, who is set to release her sixth studio album Joyride through her new label in 2025, told Elle that she is determined to challenge and dismantle oppressive practices within the industry.
Speaking about her plans, Kesha said: “The music industry should be f****** terrified of me because I’m about to make some major moves and shift this sh**.
“I want to dismantle it piece by piece and shine light into every corner.”
Kesha, who went through a lengthy legal battle with her former producer Dr. Luke, has described her new venture as an act of feminist defiance.
“My joy is such a feminist act of defiance,” she said.
“To anyone who’s a survivor out there, know that the energy of support toward me also flows through me to you.”
The singer went on to speak of the importance of mentorship in the industry, reflecting on her own experiences and the lack of female role models in pop music when she was rising to fame.
She credited rock icons like the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, and Alice Cooper for offering her support during difficult times, and now wants to be that source of strength for others.
“I hope my joy can show others that it’s available to them and to not give up,” she said.
"I enjoy feeling my power, and I’d love to give that gift to others.”
Kesha's journey to this point has been shaped by her high-profile legal battle with Dr. Luke, whom she accused of sexual, physical, and verbal abuse.
The case, which began in 2014, was settled in 2023 after years of litigation.
Reflecting on the settlement, Kesha said: “Only God knows what happened that night. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one.
“I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
Dr. Luke, who denied the allegations and sued Kesha for defamation, also expressed a desire to move on and said: “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone.
“It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me.”
Now, Kesha is focused on using her platform to empower others and reshape the industry.
