"Tom will remain in our hearts and our memories."

Kelsey Parker, the wife of the late musician Tom Parker, was moved to tears as she read out a letter from Tom's record company in her new docuseries. Tom passed away last September, after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. As well as Kelsey, he is survived by his daughter Aurelia and his son Bodhi. In her new series, Kelsey Parker: Life After Tom, Kelsey speaks about the grief she's been feeling, and updates fans on how life has been since the loss. In one scene on last night's episode, she opens up a package sent to her from Tom's record company, which included a commemorative set of gold disc of The Wanted's Gold Forever, which has been dedicated to their former bandmate's memory. Kelsey explained that she can't listen to the song as it's too emotional.   "They did a new version of Gold Forever and it sold five million copies, and I still can’t listen to it," she says. The letter reads: "Thank you for sharing him. Tom will remain in our hearts and our memories." Kelsey then says that it's "horrible" to read the letter. "It's their saddest song," she says. "And it's really weird because when you actually listen to Tom's music, the songs are actually really sad. "Tom’s opening line is 'Say my name like it’s the last time, live today like it’s the last night' and he opens the song with that. "Do you know what, I’ve never, ever recognised it before but then, once he died, I realised how sad they were." She then shared that she can't believe the "pain" in some of Tom's lyrics. She added that she understands her children's experience of grief is "not the norm". "When people die, other kids don't get a gold record that says their dad's name and that he sold five million copies," she says.
