With Hollywood's penchant for reboots and remakes, films fans are right to feel somewhat protective over properties that they love and when it comes to beloved films, the Indiana Jones trilogy is right up there. Yep, we said trilogy because we're still choosing to believe that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull never happened. Shia LaBeouf, CGI vines, nuclear explosions, gophers, aliens. Christ! If you did see the fourth instalment of Indy's cinematic adventures, you'll remember that there's a scene when LaBeouf's character, Mutt Williams, almost picks up the famous fedora and wears it. Thankfully, Ford thinks that nobody else will ever get to use the bullwhip aside from him because in an interview with  NBC’s Today, he said that he'll be the only person to play the legendary archaeologist. “Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones. Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy. This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry, man!," he said. Of course, Chris Pine was just one of the men that played another one of Ford's most iconic characters, Jack Ryan. Ben Affleck also played the CIA operative in The Sum of All Fears. Aside from this, another famous Chris, Chris Pratt, was also linked with the role of Indiana Jones in the past but it appears that Ford will be the only man that gets to chase that fortune and glory, kid. While Ford's comments are encouraging, it should be noted that River Phoenix famously played a younger version of Indiana Jones during the opening scene of The Last Crusade. Sean Patrick Flanery also played Henry Jones Jr. in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. As for Indy's next film outing, Indiana Jones 5 is set to come out in 2021 with Ford and Steven Spielberg reuniting. Bring it on.
