Whether you’re an uber-fan who collected the special wedding edition china, you’re mildly interested in all the pomp and fuss that goes with being one of our neighbouring royals, or you couldn’t give a flying proverbial about the British monarchy… there’s surely no denying that Kate and Wills are the best thing to happen to the Royal Family in decades.

The couple celebrate their second wedding anniversary today, with first baby due to make its arrival in July, so we’re looking at the evidence that suggests they’re the most rocking royals ever to grace a palace.

No Arrangements Necessary 

There was no meddling required when it came to finding a bride for the future King of England, unlike so many monarchs before. William didn’t come across Kate at a Cinderealla-style presentation ball for all the (eligible) single ladies, the pair met back in 2001 when they were both students at St. Andrews. While the prince was never going to marry a Pussycat Doll, (we’re looking at you Harry), this was a love match from the beginning, no arrangements necessary.

 

You Can’t Hurry Love 

Though for some it was an excuse to dub her ‘Waity Katie’, we’re of the opinion that Kate and Wills were dead right to take as long as they did to put a ring on it. They were two young, free, beautiful and seemingly lovely people – why the hell should they pay attention to anyone else’s opinion? After a short break they discovered what we suspected all along… they were each other’s lobsters.

 

From This Moment

There was a lot about the big day that was uncomfortably reminiscent of Charles and Diana, which as we all know, was not exactly the love match of millennia. We knew it would all be ok though, when William turned around to Kate as she reached the altar and we all lip-read as he told her “You look beautiful”, looking like the most restrained version of the happiest man in the world that it’s possible to be.

Bringing the Royals smack bang into the 21^st century… jeans and t-shirts, and one of the cutest PDAs of the last year. The adorable pair couldn’t help themselves from getting caught up in the excitement of the London Olympics and when these snaps were published there was a collective ‘Aaaw!’ from women all over the world.

 

 

Embarrassing Siblings 

There are few people on this earth who can mortify you in the same way that your brothers and sisters can, something Kate and William know plenty about. While in older incarnations of the Royal family the black sheep children would have been cast aside, but Kate and Wills seem to have taken all the chat about Pippa’s bum and Harry’s balls with a pinch of salt, and both still seem to be besties with their siblings. 

 

Fashion Finds & Crowning Glories

If ever in a wardrobe crisis, many women across the world now ask themselves; “What would K Middy do?” The stunning young woman has made a point of wearing the same clothes to different events (LIKE. NORMAL. PEOPLE.) on multiple occasions and she often opts for high street buys that we can actually afford. Yes we know she doesn’t have to and she could happily spend in a day what we earn in a year, but it’s nice to know she chooses not too and her head is not completely in the clouds. As for William, well, it’s not like he’s made balding trendy or anything – but it's nice for the menfolk to know that you can be a future king with a spectacular wife, baby on the way and the world at your fingertips… but not everything will go your way.

 

Sometimes they look very silly… just like us.
