The actor told the chat-show host that he no longer feels "panicked" in his own body.
In a
trailer for his upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, Elliot Page talks about how happy he feels after publicly coming out as trans.
Page is expected to share more with the legendary chat-show host in an episode of The Oprah Conversation which will stream on Apple TV+.
In the snippet, Page talks about his decision to come out.
"I was expressing this to people in my life before posting that letter and telling people for the first time and knowing I wanted a moment to become comfortable in myself and to be able to get to that point," he says.
He added that his decision to come out publicly was largely motivated by the discrimination the trans community face around the world.
"In this time we're in right now and especially with this horrible backlash we're seeing towards trans people, particularly trans youth, it really felt imperative to do so," he says.
Elliot recently underwent top surgery.
In the trailer, he discusses the impact of the procedure.

"I'm not having the moment where I'm panicked," he says. "It's being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body for probably the first time. Tears of joy."
Elliot
came out as transgender in December 2020.
In a post on Instagram, he shared his new name, as well as his pronouns.
"I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot," he wrote.
He continued: "I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can't begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self."
In an interview with
Time Magazine earlier this year, the actor shared that his top surgery "transformed" his life. He added that he can now recognise himself in the mirror.
