Earlier this month, it emerged that they were taking some time apart but now it seems Melanie Sykes and Jack Cockings are heading for a divorce.
According to reports the television presenter, who was recently spotted without her wedding ring, has met with solicitors at a legal firm in London.
“Mel is devastated that she doesn’t seem to be able to save this relationship,” a source told
The Mirror. “They were really happy but things have deteriorated very quickly. Most of all she just feels embarrassed about how all of this has played out.”
The insider added: “This is not how she thought she would be spending Christmas. Of course she still has feelings for Jack – she feels like the odds were stacked against them with the age difference but it’s not less painful for her.”
Melanie (43) and Jack (28), who started dating after meeting on Twitter last year,
tied the knot back in May. They both have children from previous relationships.
