Well, they are, kind of. But also not. Let us explain. The details about Harry and Meghan's wedding rings have been revealed by Kensington Palace and their design is very traditional, indeed. Meghan's wedding ring has been fashioned from a piece of Welsh Gold, which was gifted to her by the Queen. Welsh Gold is very common when it comes to the design of British royal wedding rings with Kate, Diana, and the Queen herself all having rings fashioned out of this gold. The tradition dates all the way back to the 20s when Elizabeth Bowes Lyon (the Queen Mother, Harry’s great-grandmother) got married. However, the couple are also breaking tradition with their rings too because Prince Harry is deciding to wear one. Unlike his brother Prince William, Harry has opted to wear a wedding band. When the Duke of Cambridge married, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Prince Phillip, who both chose not to wear the symbol of marriage. Harry's wedding ring will be will be a Platinum Band with a textured finish. Both rings have been made by Cleave and Company.
