Chloe Koyce says she hopes people learn from her experience
Irish influencer Chloe Koyce has spoken out after the man accused of following her into her hotel appeared in court this week.
The influencer was left shaken after a man followed her into her Dublin hotel in March.
After a night out, a man followed her into a hotel lift after a night out in Dublin. Koyce revealed the man was holding a belt in his hand when he followed her into the lift.
According to The Journal, the man, aged in his 20s, is being charged with stalking the woman under section 10 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Speaking on her Instagram stories, Chloe Koyce said she doesn't want to spread hate about the accused.
"I’m sure many of you have seen the update online already. I really don’t want to create some sort of hate train for this individual (I’m just not that type of person), but he has been named and shamed!"
"Something I didn’t ever intend on doing myself, but consequences are consequences. Right now it feels like it’s happened all over again, and I’m sure this feeling will always be there; it’s something I'm learning to cope with."
Koyce says she hopes this incident teaches all young men and women a vital lesson.
"I hope this teaches all young men and women a lesson. Young men, this behaviour will never be accepted. Parents, please teach your children better. Women, please be extra careful."
"Thank you to everyone who sent their love. I really appreciate you! I only ever want you guys to learn from my experience. Hopefully, justice will be served."
Chloe has been praised for bravely speaking out following such a frightening incident.
Her story has also highlighted just how vital change is when it comes to women's safety in Ireland.
