Cher is reportedly being sued over alleged racism.
According to
TMZ, the music star has been accused by her choreographer Kevin Wilson (who apparently filed legal documents via attorney Perry Wander) of “racial discrimination and retaliation.”
He claims that when Cher was auditioning dancers for her
Dressed to Kill tour and he said he liked a “minority female dancer”, she told him that there was “too much colour onstage” and said “not to cast anymore dark skinned black dancer on the tour.” In his claim he says that she told him to find a white, blonde dancer.
The lawsuit also apparently refers to an incident during which a male dancer got sexually aggressive with a female fan after inviting her back to his room.
Wilson alleges that Cher tried to cover this up by keeping the dancer involved and firing the three whistle-blowers, including him. He claims that they were told they were being dismissed due to “budget cuts” despite the success of the show.
A spokesperson for the 68-year-old has addressed the accusations, stating that they are “ridiculous” and “couldn’t be further from the truth.” Her lawyer also said that the alleged statement is “untrue and categorically denied.”
