Britney previously sparked rumours that she may be penning her side of the story after posting an image of a typewriter to her Instagram page with the caption: "Shall I start from THE BEGINNING???"
Britney has also publicly said several times that she wants to set things straight.
The news of a potential book comes after the popstar criticised her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, for releasing a memoir titled 'The Things I Should Have Said'.
The book contained several stories about Britney's behaviour over the years, including an allegation that she once locked herself and Jamie Lynn in a bathroom, branding a knife.
Britney accused her sister of promoting the memoir at her expense.
Last month, it was revealed that Britney was reportedly in talks with Oprah Winfrey to do a huge interview about her conservatorship and ongoing family feud.
"Britney is deeply hurt and angry others, who claim to love her, keep attempting to tell her narrative when it’s her story to tell," s source said at the time.
“She will absolutely be speaking out on her own terms. Nothing is locked in yet but things are in play right now. It’s happening this year, maybe sooner than fans think.
"She’s focusing on starting her new life now.”
A release date and title for Britney's book are yet to be announced.
