BBC journalist Deborah James broke some devastating news earlier this week when she revealed that she had moved to a hospice after a five-year battle with bowel cancer. Her cancer is terminal and she has now stopped treatment for her illness, raising millions for cancer research since revealing the news. Not only did she leave a sad message, she also gave some very clear messages to her family and friends for when her time comes to an end. Calling it her "death admin", she has given her final wishes in her usual witty way, telling The Times that she wants some very specific things to happen after she passes. Praising her "incredible support" husband Seb, she hoped he could move on once she passed and remarry, but she has one condition. "I have given him strict instructions: 'I want him to move on. He's a handsome man, I'm like "Don't be taken for a ride, don't marry a bimbo, find someone else who can make you laugh like we did." Speaking candidly about her husband and how he is handling everything, she said she has "never seen him so emotional." The journalist also opened up on how she told her kids the news, describing it as "hideous" but has been spending the last few days writing letters to them for the future. "I didn't think I'd be able to speak to them without crying but I'd love one last cuddle," she said. In her last column for The Sun, she admitted that the idea of never seeing them grow up is hitting her hard but she is "grateful for the life I had." Her final wishes also say where and how she wants her funeral to go so her family will have one less thing to worry about. Wanting it at her parents house, Deborah said in her final podcast she wants to "see greenery and my whole family can come".
