"No one is going to produce her, so she should produce her own."
Amber Heard may return to our screens with her very own "original concept" movie, according to her former agent.
The actress recently
lost a defamation suit brought against her by her ex-husband Johnny Depp and has been ordered to pay $10 million in damages.
It's highly likely the fallout from the trial will see Hollywood producers reluctant to hire the 36-year-old for the foreseeable future.
However, Jeffrey Nightbyrd, who signed Heard to his agency when she was just 17, says he believes she will be able to rebuild her career on her own terms.
"She has a very good brain and she should do her own projects," he told
The Mirror. "No one is going to produce her, so she should produce her own.
“I would bet one day Amber will produce and direct a film with an original concept."
He continued: "In this era, when most women’s roles are either silly or comic book like action adventures, Amber will surprise everyone by going outside the system and embracing a role that challenges conventional thinking.”
The highly publicised six-week trial ended on Wednesday last week, when the jury reached a verdict.
They concluded that Heard had defamed Depp with the 2018 op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post - in which she claimed to have been a victim of domestic abuse.
The jury found 'yes' in answer to each question asked to them, finding that her statements about her marriage were "false" and conveyed "a defamatory implication".
Heard's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft later said Heard could not afford to pay the $10 million in damages and that she
intended to appeal. She said she has "some excellent grounds for it", as "there was so much evidence that did not come in".
According to
US Weekly, the actress is convinced she will win her appeal on "freedom of speech".
