She has walked down the aisle before but she has never been given away by a Hollywood star nor married someone with a name like this!

That’s right, Kate Winslet and her boyfriend Ned RocknRoll (yes that is his real name, yes he did change it and yes we would have done the same if we had been called Abel Smith) have taken the plunge and made their love official.

Kate has been with Ned, nephew of Sir Richard Branson, for just over a year.

The actress and her other half, who got engaged earlier this year after a year together, tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York according to reports. In fact, not even their nearest and dearest knew about it apparently.

Someone who did know however was Kate’s Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio who gave her away. A source told The Sun newspaper: “She asked if Leo would give her away because they are best friends.”

Leo gave Kate away during the private ceremony.

The insider added: “Kate and Ned got married in a really romantic and private ceremony. They had been planning it for a while. They are both so happy and very much in love. Kate is very private and didn’t want anyone to know.” Like most celebrities these days!

We only hope it will be third time lucky for the award-winning actress who has been married twice before, to Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes, and that the couple’s marriage doesn’t reflect the groom’s last name!
