Actress Jaime Pressly has revealed that she underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with mastitis following the birth of her son.
The
My Name Is Earl star explained that she experienced pain when breastfeeding her baby boy, Dezi,back in 2007.
However she thought it was normal and waited four years before going to the doctor. At that time she had discovered several lumps her breasts.
Jaime (37) told
The Talk hosts and audience: “I had something that happened to me years ago, when I had my son I got mastitis, but I didn’t know because I thought it was just regular breastfeeding pain”.
When she went to get some scar tissue removed from one of her breasts, it was found to have spread and she underwent almost a “full mastectomy”.
“I still have some breast tissue left, just from the mastitis because it mutated into something else because it sat dormant for a while. But it was the craziest thing. Thank God it wasn’t (cancer)”.
