YouTuber and ex Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa came out to the world recently and she's now revealed that she was able to do it with the help of her "wonderful" girlfriend who encouraged her.
JoJo recently told the world that she, in fact, gay. The social media star had previously said she's not completely comfortable with placing a label on herself but that coming out made her the "happiest she's ever been".
We don't really care for labels, all that we care about is that this young star is happy and she's being true to herself.
JoJo said: "I always believed that my person was just going to be my person. And if that person happened to be a boy, great, and if that person happened to be a girl, great!"
She continued: "Right now, I'm super-duper happy and I want to share everything with the world, but I also want to keep things in my life private until they are ready to be public. Right now what matters is that you guys know that no matter who you love, that it's OK."
On the Tonight Show JoJo explained the reason behind her decision to come out, telling Jimmy Fallon that she has a girlfriend who is "super encouraging and wonderful".
JoJo said was part of a video which involved only LGBTQ+ content creators and she thought it was going to "out" her.
She said: "I was like, I don't really mind, because it is true. I do have the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world. It's not something I'm ashamed of. I just haven't shown the internet yet."
Since coming out publicly JoJo has received endless positive messages of love and support. She told the talk show host, "it was the most insane thing ever, literally everyone and their brother called me, texted me, sent me Instagram messages, tweeted me."
"It was the most love I think I ever received, and the cool thing was it was the last little piece of me that the world hadn't seen yet and it was really awesome.
"I'm just so happy, because now I get to share what makes me the happiest with the world," she concluded. "And it makes my heart so happy."
