Three weeks in to my VICHY Normaderm challenge, and I’m a changed woman!
The lovely people at VICHY set me a challenge, to use their Normaderm range of products for one month, and report back on the effects the line had on my blemish-prone skin over the month. After three weeks, the benefits of my routine are becoming ever clearer… as is my skin! More on that in a bit, but first a recap on the routine….

The Products
I’m trialing the full NORMADERM range. That might sound like a lot of effort, but in reality it’s as simple as a standard cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night, a targeted spot treatment to use on blemishes whenever necessary, and an exfoliator and mask, each to be used once or twice a week. Simple! The five minutes it takes is nothing, and I sleep sounder knowing my skin is being looked after in my slumber!
Morning:
Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel
Normaderm Purifying Pore-Tightening Lotion
Normaderm Global Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
Night:
As above, but replacing Normaderm Global Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care with Normaderm Night Chrono Active Anti-Imperfection Night Cream
Once/Twice weekly:
Normaderm Unclogging Exfoliating Gel
Normaderm 3-in-1 Mask
As needed:
Normaderm Hyaluspot
Over the month I’m looking at one or two products in more detail, this week it’s the Normaderm Global Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care and the Normaderm Unclogging Exfoliating Gel

Normaderm Global Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
Step three every morning was this lightweight moisturiser. The gel-like texture was non-greasy and non-sticky, and worked well as a makeup base also. My skin felt hydrated throughout the day and meanwhile the science behind the product was hard at work. This gel works on six signs of acne prone skin: acne pimples, breakouts, dilated pores, shine, redness and dryness. This moisturiser left my skin feeling protected and hydrated, even after log days in air-conditioned offices. Often, people with oily skin assume that if they use a hydrating moisturiser it will make their skin shinier and cause excess oil production. This is, in fact, entirely inaccurate. Put simply, dehydration is a lack of water in the skin and has nothing to do with oil. When the skin is lacking in water it does not renew itself properly and the cycle of imperfections continue - so don't skip the moisturiser!
Normaderm Unclogging Exfoliating Gel
I love a good scrub – few things make your skin feel as fresh and clean. The purpose is to gently aid the natural process of shedding excess dead skin cells, therefore a gentle exfoliation bead is all that is required. Too harsh a bead can lead to further skin damage as it just scratches the skin surface, over stimulates the skin and then actually promotes oil production. When using an exfoliator, always avoid breakout areas so as to avoid breaking the head of the spot and further spreading the bacteria and delaying the healing process. Stay away from hot water too - always use tepid water when washing or exfoliating the skin so as to avoid stimulating oil production. This gentle exfoliating gel exfoliates and refines the skin's texture. The deep-cleansing action purifies pores by eliminating excess oil, and my skin felt squeaky clean and brighter after every use.
Week three: The verdict so far...
After three weeks I’ve really gotten into the swing of my regime, and it’s now become second nature to me. The five minutes every morning and night is really starting to pay off; as well as the blemishes I do get clearing quicker, I’m now noticing that less spots are developing in the first place. My skin is noticeably brighter and clearer, and it feels much nicer too – with less oil around my T Zone but without the dry sensation I felt after using other products. Instead my skin feels hydrated and refreshed. Roll on week four!
