You won’t get better bang for your buck for their longstanding hero products, but what about the new additions? We know the price is right, so we’ve been putting the formulas to the test.

In-Shower Body Moisturiser, RRP €3.99

Let’s be honest; when that alarm clock goes off there is pretty much nothing we won't do for an extra five minutes under the covers. So, anything that saves us time in the morning is just fine by team Her.ie. One thing we’re reluctant to skimp on, though, is looking after our skin. Using a daily moisturiser is one of the basics when it comes to skincare, so hats off to NIVEA for this innovation. The In-Shower Body moisturiser does exactly what it says on the very attractive packaging: moisturising your body while you’re still in the shower. This eliminates the need for product after your morning wash, and also saves you the time you usually spend waiting for your moisturiser to dry. Simply use your normal shower products and rinse off as always, then apply the new In-Shower Body Moisturiser while you’re still in the shower. Rinse off, and you’re good to go. No waiting, no mess, no fuss. There is one product for normal skin and one for dry, and after a week of use we’re happy to say we won’t be going back to the old routine. Now the alarm goes off, and we roll over sleepily saying ‘Five more minutes…’ Win!

Q10 Plus Firming Body Oil, RRP €9.99

We’re big fans of oil moisturisers. Less sticky than creams, a good one is easily absorbed and serves to properly lock in the skin’s natural moisture, while also leaving a very pleasant sheen on the skin. This NIVEA star buy promises to intensively moisturise the skin, and firm the skin in less than two weeks. All NIVEA Q10 plus products contain coenzyme Q10, found in the skin naturally, which helps to improve the skin’s firmness. This oil should be massaged into areas of the skin where it’s needed most twice a day, and can be used on wet or dry skin. We really enjoyed testing this one. The oil boasts a light, clean and fresh scent, and it dries within seconds, so again that time spent waiting around is eliminated (if you’ve ever been that woman in such a rush she does a wild naked dance to speed up the process, you’ll understand). At only €9.99 for a 200ml bottle, it does twice the job of others we’ve tried, at less than half the price.

Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover, RRP €4.52

This funky looking little bottle contains a two-phase extra strength formula designed to effectively move all traces of eye makeup – no rubbing necessary. We all know the skin around the eye is thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face, so it’s of upmost importance to take good care of this skin. We do this with expensive serums and gels alright, but are you taking off your makeup properly in the first place? This innovation from NIVEA combines an oil phase, which effectively removes even waterproof mascara and eye makeup, and an aqueous phase, which protects and cares for your lashes with a formula designed to eliminate any oily residue. Simply shake vigorously before use to ensure both parts are fully mixed, then apply to a cotton pad and gently cleanse the eye area from the inner to the outer side, no rubbing required.
