Let's talk foundations. They're something that are essential in our make-up routine and something we reach for every day - but we should be changing this. Foundations have come a long way over the years, think back to 2016 when we relied on a thick, matte coverage whereas now we want to look as natural as possible. And we may have found the way to do that. If you aren't on the skin tint buzz already - you need to be. Ever since I started wearing make-up (and yes, it was the Maybelline mousse, we were all there), I always hated the feel of a thick layer of foundation. But as I got into it a lot more and began to find what worked for me, I found that a light or medium coverage suited so much better. There was no more clinging, creasing or caking. Lighter foundations were my go-to for a long time, especially having such dry skin - heavy and matte products just weren't an option. Last year, I was introduced to skin tints. I knew about Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Flawless Filter but always assumed it was to be used under your foundation for a more glowy finish and boy was I wrong.

On a good skin day, this is all I need. The effect is in the name, it gives off a natural skin-like finish while still giving enough coverage to act as a foundation. But it's Fenty Beauty's Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint that truly changed my perspective on this. Slightly heavier than Flawless Filter, it's the perfect balance between this and a foundation. Not to mention, it lasts all day. Every time I put it on, I genuinely think "Rihanna, what can't you do?"

A little goes a long way with a product like this and it gives you a much more hydrated and dewy look to your skin that many foundations can't achieve. And with the Fenty Beauty one, you know there's going to be an incredible shade range. While in one of those many Sephora's mentioned earlier, I also tested out the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen. This product is similar in texture, finish and coverage to the Fenty Beauty one, what is it about a celebrity beauty brand? I have used Rare Beauty's Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation on many occasions and find it does not sit well on my skin. It feels quite powdery and clings to my dry spots, which is the last thing anyone wants in a foundation.

But the tinted moisturiser is the complete opposite. It sits beautifully while still giving you the feel of wearing make-up and not having to worry that it's rubbing off your chin half way through the day. This all being said, I have extremely dry skin and rely on a hydrating formula which is what these are. Heavier foundations can work the same way for someone with oily skin.
