If your skin feels dry and tight, standard practice given the current cold spell, then chances are you're piling on the moisturiser.
However, simply slapping it on isn't going to do the job and one expert believes there's a simple way of getting maximum benefit from your cosmetics.
Christine Chang and Sara Lee, the ladies behind
Glow Recipe, spoke to
Byrdie and said that "patting" your moisturiser is the way forward.
"Instead of your usual application method, try gently patting your skincare in. This action increases pressure and also heat, both elements that help your skincare to absorb better" said the duo.
All of this boils down to time but instead of rushing through your routine, try taking an extra minute to properly apply your skincare products.
Seeing as "patting" is something advocated by the hugely successful Korean beauty industry, we'll have to try it out.
