Frito-Lays seems to have thought otherwise.
Cheeteau, the official fragrance of Cheetos, was launched yesterday - April Fool's Day - so obviously everyone just assumed it was a joke. The ad for the new fragrance definitely didn't help us decide how real all of it was anyway.

It is very really, though. A reporter at
Kotaku, who got sent a bottle, wishes he had never opened it. In fact the best review we've found for it describes the smell as: nauseating.
Sounds awful but if chemical cheese smell is your thing, you might have missed your chance to buy it because it was only available in New York and LA for the day.
We hope to God no one brings it here.
