Over half of Irish women (53%) say that the ability to read reviews is one of the main reasons they shop online according to new Boots.ie research.

To celebrate the launch of Boots.ie, Boots Ireland has launched a nationwide search for four Irish women to become official Boots Insiders. The four winners will test and review the latest products available from Boots Ireland’s dedicated on-line store Boots.ie, creating short video blogs and providing Boots.ie customers with the inside track on new launches and some great finds.  To enter, submit a video, no longer than 45-seconds, reviewing No7 BB Lips to the Boots Ireland facebook page. Each Boots Insider will receive Boots products on a regular basis to trial and review, in some cases receiving products before they are available online or in-store.  This will include Boots owned brands including No7, Botanics, Soltan and Seventeen. The Boots Insiders will also be asked to review other key items such as suncare products, mother and baby products and Christmas gifts. 

Judging the national search will be TV presenter and fashion writer Darren Kennedy; renowned beauty journalist, TV presenter and former model Laura Bermingham; Laura Haugh, mum-in-residence with MummyPages.ie and Gillian Hennessy, Marketing Manager at Boots Ireland. 

Speaking at the launch of the Boots Insiders competition, Darren Kennedy, judge, said, “I am so excited to be involved in the Boots Insiders competition. We are looking for women who love all that Boots has to offer, who like to be the first to try things out and who love to tell other people about their new finds. Now that Boots.ie has launched, we want to find the four real people can give Irish women insight and guidance so they can hear exactly what products are like.”

Also speaking at the launch was Gillian Hennessy, Boots Marketing Manager and fellow Boots Insider judge, who said “Boots.ie is allowing women across Ireland who may never have shopped at Boots before to go online and shop our full range. We want a panel of real Irish women to review our products and tell us about their top picks which our customers can check out on our Boots Ireland Facebook page. If you would like to be a Boots Insider, make a short video introducing yourself and reviewing the No7 BB Lips, how you used the product, what you liked about it and if you would recommend it to a friend. Upload it to the Boots Ireland facebook page and you are one step closer to becoming a Boots Insider.”

In addition to a regular supply of products to review, each of the successful winners will receive a hamper of Boots products, a brand new Sony digital camera for capturing their reviews and a blogging masterclass with Darren Kennedy.
